First Call: Snow Likely Inland, Cold Rain for the Coast

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

Here’s my first stab at snow totals across the Mid-Atlantic. It’s no secret that this system has trended negatively for snow lovers. This now looks like a mainly Saturday event–starting as early as 10am w/ clearing conditions by evening. Many areas SE of I-81 will change to rain.

Areas northwest of I-95 should have enough marginally cold air in place to start as snow. However, a southeast wind off the water will transition snow to rain in many spots. Moderate impacts are possible north of the Mason-Dixon Line on Saturday, w/ improving conditions on Sunday.

Overall, this system has become a faster, weaker, and warmer event. While Southern MD may see up to an inch of cold rain, inland areas will struggle to see much more than a moderate snowfall.

It’s the season’s first event. Additional opportunities will show themselves!
