Over the last few weeks, we have gotten several Spring teases! As we draw closer to Spring and our average temperatures begin to quickly rise, we are seeing these warmer days become much more frequent. If you’re clamoring for even more Spring-like warmth, this weekend is for you!
Temperatures have been steadily rising this week, with highs today getting into the upper 50s, which is above average for early March. We will see a brief return of cooler air late this week before our big-time warm-up!
Temperatures tomorrow will still be comfortable, with highs around our seasonal average, in the lower 50s. However, a north wind late Thursday will usher in a return of much cooler air. Wake-up temperatures on Friday will likely be in the upper 20s, with highs only in the 40s. Those coats will be needed!
Friday’s cooldown will not be long-lived at all, though. We will see the Jetstream reconfigure itself as high pressure develops off the Southeast coastline. That area of high pressure will surge mild air northward, confining the cold to the center of the country.
With the resurgence of warm air, we will see our temperatures climb this weekend! Saturday will feel a lot like today, with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. The warm-up continues Sunday as temps look to get into the 70s! We likely keep the 70s around through Tuesday, with Monday looking to be the warmest day of the mild stretch.
We will see rain chances slow climb as well as we enter into early next week. Passing showers will be possible on Monday, with a widespread chance of light rain coming on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the rain chance will come with a cold front that will usher in much more seasonal air for early March. While we are not likely to see temperatures behind the front return to Friday’s levels, we will see highs on Wednesday that are in the 50s. With that said, make sure you get out and enjoy the early May-like warmth this weekend!
