Monday’s Forecast: Seasonal Temps with Rain Late

Brought to you by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty

After a hot weekend that featured 3-days in the 90s, we saw a cold front move through last night that brought thunderstorms, flooding rains, and cooler temperatures! That cold front has pushed out to sea, setting our region up to see comfortable temperatures and low humidity today!

We are off to a mild start this morning with temperatures in the 60s. With that said, though, temperatures will be slow to rise throughout the day. We will likely only add a few degrees to our current numbers as we head throughout the day. Clouds increase this afternoon, as well, ahead of our next rain chance.

We will see rain move across the Mid-Atlantic from southwest to northeast. This rain comes from a non-tropical system that moved onshore along the Gulf Coast. This system is continuing to move northward. We will see rain chances increase as we head towards sunset. Rain will be the most likely tonight and potentially lingering into tomorrow.

All-in-all, we are not talking about a lot of rain with this system, likely less than an inch for most. However, after our recent heavy rains in parts of the region, this could lead to some ponding in some areas. The highest totals are likely to be found the further south you head.
