Many spots saw a decent amount of rain over the weekend! The big winners look to have been parts of St. Mary’s and Charles Counties where as much as 5″+ of rain fell! While this does provide some much-needed brought relief, we should see a break from the rain today!
We are off to a seasonal start this morning across the region. Once the sun rises this morning, we should see a decent bit of warming take place. Many spots are likely to see highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s this afternoon.
Instead of dealing with rain today, we will have to deal with more air quality issues from the Canadian wildfire smoke. The upper-level air patterns are helping to direct the smoke back toward the Mid-Atlantic.
The AirNow forecast has our air quality reaching “Moderate” air quality levels. This indicates that while hazy skies may exist, most people should not experience issues outside. However, do take it easy outside this afternoon!
While it will be warm and hazy, we will not see overly high humidity. The lack of high humidity shows that our rain chances are pretty diminished across the area today. Futurecast shows that the highest rain chances will be confined to the higher elevations out west. We will see daily afternoon storms chances return tomorrow, though.
