Tuesday’s Forecast: Cooler, but Quiet

Brought to you by Cedar Point Federal Credit Union

Our seasonal average this time of the year is in the lower 50s. We’ll be right around that this afternoon, but it will feel markedly colder than it might otherwise feel as we come off a record warm day yesterday. Thankfully, today’s weather will be much quieter than yesterday’s.

This morning does indeed feel quite chilly. It makes sense since temperatures have been cut nearly in half from where they were just 12 hours ago! We should see some minor clearing today, allowing many areas to get into the 50s.

Additionally, winds could gust upwards of 20mph this morning as air continues to filter in from the northwest. Unlike yesterday, we should see winds calm throughout the day. By early afternoon, we should only see gusts up to 10-14mph.

We will see clouds thicken back up after sunset this evening. These clouds will come as our next storm system lifts northward with a decent amount of precipitation. I think the rain should hold off until midnight tonight.

Temperatures overnight will cool back into the lower 40s and upper 30s. While this should be too “warm” for snow locally, we could see a few wet flakes mix in across Northern Maryland. SE of DC, this is likely to be a cold rain, that sticks around throughout Wednesday.

Check out yesterday evening’s report on the wild weather swings that we are likely to see for the rest of this week. The battle between the seasons continues, with Winter’s last gasp trying to move in for next week. However, our latest modeling suggests that any cold will likely not stick for much more than a day or two!
