Brought to you by Chesapeake Ice
Our next system is set to have snow/sleet move in during the mid-to-late morning hours on Saturday. Most areas south of the Mason-Dixon Line will see <1″ of snow before a quick transition to ice. The ice will linger for a few hours Saturday afternoon before gradually transitioning to rain.
The highest ice amounts will be found north of DC where the cold air hangs on into the evening hours. However, most will see ice impacts on Saturday afternoon, causing widespread travel issues. The highest impacts will be north of Baltimore, where sleet will hang on the longest.
Temperatures should rebound into the 40s/50s on Sunday. However, expect the real possibility of lingering icy patches in the morning, especially north.
After this, we then look to next Tuesday and Wednesday for the chance of another snow/mix event/ Stay tuned!
