Wednesday’s Forecast: Seasonally Warm Before Cold Front

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

We are off to a chilly start area-wide with temperatures starting off in the lower 30s. We should see temperatures rebound nicely this afternoon as many spots look to max out in the upper 40s and lower 50s!

We will see the cloud cover increasing throughout the day as we see a southwest wind drive in the warmer air. The winds today should not be nearly as bad as the last few days, with gusts only up to 20-25mph. We may see rain move in as we approach midnight as our cold front nears the region.

Our Chesapeake’s Bounty‘s Futurecast shows clouds moving through the region throughout the day. However, we look to stay dry for most of the daylight hours. It is not until we approach midnight that we may see rain move in. Temperatures are likely to still be in the lower 40s by midnight, ensuring that this will start as all rain. As we move into the Thursday morning, around sunrise, there is the chance that this transitions over to a brief period of snow.

Yesterday, I issued my First Call forecast on the potential for accumulating snow Thursday morning. You can check that out at the link above. As things stand this morning, I’m not sure that too much will need to be changed with this forecast. I still like the accumulation map and potential impact timing I outlined yesterday. With that said, stay tuned for further updates as we get more data throughout the day. Also, check out the article I wrote on Monday about the potential winter weather threats that exist later on this week! That article is linked below.
