Wednesday’s Forecast: Summer Like Temps & Humidity

Brought to you by Calvert Title Company

Yesterday’s humidity will look to stick around today as temperatures look to become quite warm! Many spots will look to get into the upper 80s to lower 90s today, which is a few degrees above average for this time of the year. The warmest temperatures will be found inland, away from the water.

We will see temperatures gradually rise throughout the morning. Many spots are likely to be in the 80s by mid-morning, with 90s becoming a possibility after lunchtime. Dewpoints will rise into the upper 60s, which will make it feel like we’re in the middle 90s this afternoon!

With the heat and humidity today, there will be the chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon and evening. The highest chances of seeing that (30-40%) will be out along the central Shenandoah Valley. That is where the Storm Prediction Center has placed a Level 2 “Elevated Risk” of seeing strong to severe storms.

Locally, in Southern MD, the chances are lower, between 10-20%. The main threat would be locally heavy rain and gusty winds.

Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast simulated radar

Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast shows that chance of an isolated storm or two out west before sunset this evening. We will see cloud cover increase overnight, with the chance of rain returning tomorrow morning. Thursday may offer a rain chance in the morning and a storm chance in the evening. There are still some questions about this part of the forecast, though, so stay tuned for additional updates.
