Wednesday’s Forecast: Warm w/ Spotty PM Storms

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

Yesterday turned out to be quite the active weather day with heat, humidity, and strong evening storms. In the wake of last night’s activity, we look to have another warm and humid day on tap across the region. Thankfully, this should see cooler air work in by tomorrow.

First up, though, we have another typical mid-July day to get through. We are off to a muggy start, and we will see temperatures rise into the 80s later this morning with 90s on tap for this afternoon. Heat indices will get up into the middle 90s before another storm chance comes through.

With afternoon heating, we may see a few spotty storms fire up this afternoon. Thankfully, I do not think we are talking about storms on the level that we saw last night. Futurecast shows that between 3-11pm we could see some spotty storms bubble up and move through. The greatest storm chances today exist to our south, across far southern Virginia.

As mentioned above, the severe weather risk is much lower today than it was yesterday. The Storm Prediction Center does not even have our region in an organized risk zone. We may see 1 or 2 spotty storms tomorrow, and they may have some gusty winds and locally heavy rains. However, I am not expecting much in the way of strong to severe storms.

The greater chance to see those isolated storms may hold off until after sunset, but you will want to keep this spotty storm chance in mind. I would not cancel any outdoor plans, but do stay weather aware this afternoon.
