PM Update: Clearing With Frigid Temps & Winds

Brought to you by Cedar Point Federal Credit Union

Talk about an active weather day! We went from temps in the 50 early this morning, to heavy rain and thunderstorms by sunrise, to falling snow and dropping temperatures with crazy wind by this afternoon! This sure is one way for Winter to go out! We are seeing the last couple of rounds of snow work through the region now.

The dramatic drop in temperatures we saw today will lead to a cold evening as the snow looks to fully push out of the region by 4pm, or so. The winds will stick around through tonight, though, which will help funnel in even colder air for tonight.

Much of our region remains under a Wind Advisory until 1am. We will continue to see wind gusts upwards of 40-55mph at times throughout the evening hours. These winds could cause some isolated power outages and snap some branches.

We will see winds gradually down throughout the night. Winds will only gust up to 20mph by sunrise on Sunday. However, the damage will have been done. These wind gusts, even at just 15-20mph, will cause our wind chills to fall into the lower teens and upper single digits tonight!

By the time you wake up tomorrow morning, many spots will be in the lower 20s to upper teens. The winter coats will be a necessity tomorrow morning if you’re headed out. Winds will continue to decrease, though, throughout the morning. However, temperatures will likely only max out in the 40s tomorrow afternoon.

As things stand now, this should be our last bout of true winter weather until next season. And, don’t forget– we turn our clocks ahead one hour tonight!
