Winter Storm Watches have been issued for our southern zones, including St. Mary’s County, from 10am Wednesday. – 6am Thursday. This is technically for the threat of heavy snow accumulating to 5″+. Let me be clear, though- I think that will be very hard to do… especially for St. Mary’s County. I do not agree with this watch being issued this far north.
My current forecast is for 1-3″, with more falling across Tidewater and southern Virginia. Yes, some impacts are possible Wednesday. However, I think Southern MD sits too far north for heavy snow, especially upwards of 5″+.
But, that’s just my forecast, and these are the current alerts. We’ll see how this pans out…
