A chilly December day is on tap across the region. After a cold start this morning, temperatures will struggle to rebound this afternoon.

We’re off to a cold start with many spots waking up to temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. Even as we head into the afternoon, the chill will stick around. Highs will only reach the low to mid 40s across the region, keeping us several degrees below average for early December. Skies will stay mostly sunny, but a light northwest breeze around 5 mph will keep feels-like temperatures stuck in the 30s for much of the day. It’s a crisp, chilly day from start to finish, feeling much more than January than early December!

We’re also continuing to monitor the potential for some light snow on Tuesday as our overnight guidance still hints at that possibility. It’s several days out, but the signal is worth watching.
