The biggest headline this week hasn’t really been the temperatures, it has been the humidity! Just about every day this week has featured high levels of moisture in the air, and today will be no different!
Highs across the region will likely max out in the middle to upper 80s, which is actually a couple of degrees below our seasonal average of 90*. However, our dewpoints will again be in the upper 60s to lower 70s, adding an extra sense of humidity to the air. Thankfully, much of our daylight hours should be dry. However, that will change as we approach sunset.
Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast shows that the general theme for much of today will be mostly cloudy skies. We may see an isolated sprinkle or shower here and there this afternoon, but nothing too crazy. We will see more widespread showers begin to develop across the region as we approach sunset, and head into the overnight hours.
This comes as a frontal boundary and area of low pressure both look to stall out of the region tonight and early tomorrow morning. This will allow for widespread showers and pockets of heavier rain to develop late tonight and linger through at least tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow’s forecast will be highly dependent on how quickly these two move out of here. It is possible that we see some clearing by early afternoon and a wet morning, or that the rain lingers throughout the day, into the evening hours. Regardless, some spots could see as much as an inch or two of rain between tonight and tomorrow!
