Friday’s Forecast: Rain Gives Way to Winds & Warmth

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

The weather roller coaster will continue to truck on this morning! Temperatures will look to go from the 30s this morning all the way up to the upper 50s later this afternoon with clearing skies! However, this brief warm-up does come with gusty winds.

We have quiet conditions out there early, but that will change later on this morning. Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast does a great job of showing how we will see an area of rain move eastward, and bring off and on showers later this morning. This rain likely will not be heavy but do expect some periods of rain this morning before some midday clearing.

With temperatures in the middle to upper 30s this morning, I am not too worried about an icing threat for our region, just a cold rain. After this morning’s round of showers, we will see clearing skies by lunchtime. We should manage to see a few peeks of sun, which will allow us to surge into the upper 50s before temperatures drop off tonight.

We will see winds increase this afternoon behind the rain. Winds will initially blow from the southwest, which will contribute to our afternoon warming. However, we will see winds become just westerly, which will help funnel in tonight’s cooler air. Winds could gust upward of 30-40mph at times this afternoon!
