Monday’s Forecast: Clearing, but Remaining Windy

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

Yesterday was quite the weather day! We went from snow in the 20s to a period of sleet, then we saw some thunderstorms swing through with gusty winds and temps in the 50s late last night. Thankfully, today looks a lot quieter across the region.

Wrap around snow showers are possible throughout the morning as our system pulls away. We are seeing some of those rain/snow showers pivot around the region this morning, and we may see an additional round around lunchtime. However, I am not expecting much accumulation. Temps also remain cold today thanks to gusty winds from the northwest!

Due to the gusty winds that we will have around today, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for much of the region from 8am-8pm for your Monday. Scattered outages and some downed trees are possible as winds quickly wrap around the backside of this system.

We could see wind gusts between 40-55mph throughout the day. The highest winds will be seen in the mountains, where gusts could get over 60mph. Keep this in mind as you head out today, and if you’re traversing any area bridges. Winds should begin to calm down overnight.
