Winter Weather Advisories are now posted for the areas northwest of I-95 (shaded in purple), which are the locations most likely to see moderate to high impacts from our region’s first winter storm of the season. This setup is very typical of an early-December event, with colder inland spots cold enough for snow and sleet at the start as moisture moves in around sunrise on Tuesday.
Western MD, northern VA, and southern PA could pick up 1–4 inches of snow/sleet before a change to rain later in the morning. Travel conditions may be slow or slick in these zones early on, especially during the commute.
