Southeastern areas picked up periods of rain today while our northwestern zones saw a brief wintry mix, including some light snow earlier this afternoon. As the system pulls away, any lingering precipitation will fade with colder air beginning to slide in behind it.

That colder push will also bring gusty winds this evening, with widespread gusts reaching 25–35 mph across the region. Expect a noticeably chillier feel as the cooler, drier air rushes in and winds remain elevated through the early nighttime hours.
