Sunday’s Forecast: Warm with a PM Storm Chance

Brought to you by RE Graves Heating and Air Conditioning

Today will definitely feature typical July weather across the region. We saw some showers move through the Mid-Atlantic overnight as a warm front pushed northward. As a result, we are on tap to see not just a warm day, but a humid day! The warmth and humidity may allow the atmosphere to become supportive of a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

Today’s rain chances.

The best atmospheric dynamics appear to be west of I-95 this afternoon, but we could very well see rain here in Southern MD as well. Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast is a tad aggressive with today’s rain chances. Our Futurecast shows showers and thunderstorms trying to bubble up as early as lunchtime; then potentially continuing off and on throughout the afternoon and evening. There is the risk that 1 or 2 of these storms could push severe limits. The main threat would be damaging wind gusts near 60mph. We also have a non-zero threat of seeing a storm or two try to rotate. I will have more on this potential later this morning.
