We are in the peak of Summer, and sure enough, we have a very typical summer day on tap across the region. Temperatures this afternoon will look to peak out in the upper 80s to lower 90s across the region! These seasonally warm temperatures are actually right around our average high for this time of year, which is 90°.
We are off to a humid start this morning, and we will look to keep that humidity around throughout the day today. Temperatures will look to get into the 80s later this morning and peak out during the mid-afternoon hours. We may see a tick up in cloud cover by late afternoon with a stray storm or two during the evening hours.
Today’s rain chance is rather low, sitting at around 20%. Our Futurecast shows that any showers or storms today are likely to be spotty and low-end, avoiding the strength of Tuesday’s storms, more like garden-variety storms. We may see these spotty showers and storms move through between 6pm-12am.
It is not guaranteed that everyone will see rain. Actually, it’s a better bet that you won’t see rain today, especially during the daylight hours. Therefore, I would not cancel any outdoor plans this afternoon or evening!
Looking ahead, we look to stay in this summertime pattern throughout the next week or so. Each day will have a 30% chance, or so, of seeing scattered afternoon thunderstorms thanks to the seasonal heat and humidity. The only day that has a higher rain chance is Monday. Otherwise, no day looks like a washout. Temperatures will also look to take a step up next week!
