Tuesday’s Forecast: Chilly and a Bit Windy, Still

Brought to you by Sonder Studios

We have a seasonally cool day on tap! Many spots will look to max out in the middle to upper 30s this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. We will still have a bit of a breeze at times, as well. Gusts up to 25mph will be possible. But, all-in-all, we have a quiet weather day.

As it goes with our mid-week system, Our latest run of Cedar Point Federal Credit Union Futureview continues to show some of the concerns I have with this system. Our model limits how far north the precip can come thanks to the dry air to the north and the limited interaction with the northern Jet Stream.

I am sure that throughout the day, you have seen conflicting forecasts, from my 1-3″ to others calling for 3-6″+. It will come down to how far north the axis of heaviest snow can get. The more interaction with the northern Jet Stream, the further north it can come. Yes, a northern shift is possible, which would move the bullseye further north. However, relying on those shifts before with these types of events has burned me before.

With that said, I continue to think that Southern MD sits right on the edge with this storm. We’ll see what overnight guidance and data have to say! As always, be on guard for evolving forecasts as we learn more. You can read more about my take with the forecast, below.
