Tuesday’s Forecast: Rain Likely Throughout the Day

Brought to you by Batteries Plus

The end of March and beginning of April have been quite busy in the weather department, and today will look to be no different. A few rounds of rain are likely today as a system passes by the area. We may see a break in the activity this afternoon, but that break is likely to be short-lived.

Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast does a great job of depicting today’s rain threat. We will likely see a band of showers move through the region this morning, which will be associated with a warm front. This initial band of rain should not be overly heavy and should clear the region by early afternoon.

We are likely to see a break in the activity for a couple of hours before the primary batch of rain moves through this evening. Anytime between sunset today and sunrise on Wednesday is fair game for rain. This batch of rain is likely to be heavy at times, especially southeast of DC.

Parts of our region could see up to an inch or more rain over the next 24 hours! Again, the heaviest rains are likely to be found along the lower Eastern Shore and through southern parts of our region. While widespread flooding is unlikely, some ponding on area roads will be possible overnight.

After that initial warm front passes through this morning, we are likely to see temperatures jump up a bit for this afternoon. Temperatures are likely to max out in the 60s across Southern MD, with warmer temps to the south and cooler temps to the north.

All-in-all, expect a wet Tuesday! The umbrella will likely be helpful this morning with the raincoat being a necessity by this evening!
