Tuesday’s Forecast: Seasonal w/ a Continued Onshore Flow

Brought to you by the Southern Maryland Spring Fling

We have a pretty nice day on tap across the region. Many spots will look to max out in the upper 60s to lower 70s thanks to a decent amount of sunshine! This, along with lighter winds than expected, lead to warmer temps yesterday than was forecast. These factors should allow for a repeat performance today.

We are off to a seasonal start this morning with temperatures starting out in the upper 40s to lower to middle 50s. This will set us up for some decent warming throughout the day. There will be a noticeable increase in cloud cover this evening, but rain chances will remain low today.

While not strong, there will be a slight onshore, easterly component to the wind today– especially at our coastal locations. This continued onshore flow, thanks to the weekend coastal system, has led to coastal flooding concerns. These concerns will likely continue for a couple of more days. The water level forecasts for St. George Island and Solomons Island both show this threat.

Water levels at times of high tide over the next couple of days will likely peak out around 3-4 feet. These levels of water rise are considered “moderate” at both locations, which indicated some impact on the people that live along the water. Be aware over the next couple of days as this could impact roadways and homes along the water.
