Tuesday’s Forecast: Warmth & Humidity Returns

Brought to you by SouthernMaryland SportsCards

Our recent stretch of nice weather will look to come to an end today. Today is the first day of astronomical summer, and right on cue, the warmth and humidity will be making a comeback! The warmest temps will be found out west, but many spots locally will look to get into the middle to upper 80s.

With today being the Summer Solistice, we will see the most hours of daylight today out of any day this year! Our Sun Graph shows that we will see just shy of 15 hours of daylight today! The sunrose this morning at 5:42am, and will set just after 8:30pm.

Tomorrow, we begin to lose the amount of daylight time we see. However, the loss of daylight time will be slow, initially. Tomorrow, we will only lose 2 seconds of daylight!

Turning back to our weather, we will see filtered sunshine today thanks to an area of low pressure offshore. The passing clouds may lead to a stray shower before we see additional peaks of sun this afternoon. Dewpoints will look to get into the 60s, which will make it feel humid!

Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast shows that chance of a stray shower late this morning. Any rain today is not likely to be widespread or heavy. These would just be quick-hitting showers. Again, we should break out into additional sunshine this afternoon.

Our next chance of rain will come on Wednesday when we could see scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. There is an outside chance of severe weather as well. The timing for tomorrow’s rain chances looks to be between 4-11pm. I will have more details on this threat later today.
