Wednesday’s Forecast: June Starts Hot & Humid!

Brought to you by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty

Good morning, and welcome to June y’all! We will have no shortage of heat and humidity to kick off the start of meteorological summer. Highs are likely to get back into the 90s for a second-straight day with Heat Indices looking to get back into the upper 90s!

Overnight, we have seen some scattered showers and storms fire up over Southern MD! If you live along the Bay you likely heard some thunder! I mentioned the potential for overnight showers/storms in yesterday morning’s update. These are a result of some atmospheric energy that was moving overhead. Unfourntely, these overnight storms will not help us out in the temperature department today.

Those showers and storms have moved out, and we are left with mild and muggy conditions this morning. Temperatures will quickly warm through the 80s this morning, likely making it into the 90s by lunchtime. This afternoon, we will be hot and humid, but we will also have the chance of spotty, garden variety storms. These are not likely to be widespread or severe, but it is something to keep in mind!

The greater severe weather threat will come tomorrow. Thursday will likely be our last hot day in this mini-heat wave as a cold front will look to come through tomorrow evening. Out ahead of it, scattered thunderstorms are possible. We could see a few turn severe with damaging winds being the biggest threat! I will have more details on this potential this afternoon. Stay tuned!
