Wednesday’s Forecast: Season Temps & Low Humidity

Brought to you by SouthernMaryland SportsCards

We will have one more decent weather day on tap for today! Temperatures will be several degrees warmer than yesterday, but still manageable for late-June. Our average high this time of year is 89°, and many spots will look to make a run for the middle to upper 80s this afternoon.

We are off to a comfortable start this morning with temperatures in the 60s. We should see any cloud cover this morning burn away, leading to mostly clear skies. This will allow us to warm into the middle to upper 80s. Dewpoints will remain in the lower 60s today, meaning that the humidity should not be a big driver today.

Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast shows that there is the potential for one or two isolated showers this afternoon and evening. These showers should be quite limited and not widespread. The chance of rain is rather low, around 10-20%, so not high enough to warrant anyone having to alter their plans. However, do stay aware between 4-11pm.

Tomorrow, we will see high pressure get established offshore. This will surge warm air northward along the East Coast. We are likely to see a string of 90° days starting tomorrow through Saturday. Temporary relief will come late Saturday as that cold front out west works through, bringing shower/storm chances.

This front may be a slow mover, meaning that showers may linger through the first half of your Sunday. If we can get the front out of here, and it doesn’t stall, we should see some clearing by Sunday evening and Monday, just in time for firework celebrations. Stay tuned to this part of the forecast, as it is prone to change over the coming days as we learn more about the front.
