Tuesday’s Forecast: Mild With Periods of Rain

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

After a delightful Monday with highs in the 60s, we will see rain begin to overspread the region late today as our weather pattern begins to turn unsettled. The silver lining with today’s weather is that we should be able to hold on to yesterday’s warmth. Many spots should be able to get into the 60s this afternoon.

We are off to a mild start this morning. Many communities in our local areas are in the upper 40s and lower to middle 50s to kick off today. We will see temperatures gradually rise throughout the day, getting into the 60s by lunchtime. We will hold on to these mild conditions into the evening.

Our Chesapeake’s Bounty Futurecast shows that we will keep mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. Through lunchtime, much of our region will remain dry. We will begin to see rain showers break out to our northwest this afternoon. Those areas of rain should make it down into Southern MD by this evening, and continue throughout the night.

Most spots locally should see about a half inch of rain this event, with the bulk of it falling tonight and early tomorrow. The highest rain totals will be found to our northwest.

This is just the kick off to what will be an active weather week with wild temperature swings. Temperatures on Wednesday will remain warm before a cold down moves in for Thursday, which is when the next system will look to move in. I will have more details published later today on that system.
