Evening Update: Snow Likely Throughout the Night

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

Snow has overspread southern zones & it should be widespread by sunset! Areawide snow through midnight, & then it focuses to the north before ending tomorrow morning with some sleet. Numerous slick spots tomorrow AM that could linger into the afternoon!

We are only getting started with Phase 2 of this system. While we have #snow overhead, we have a decent bit of time before all of this moisture from the Mid-South works through. Our overnight snow is currently over Tennessee! We’ll need to watch that dry air to the south, though.

Our latest run of Cedar Point Federal Credit Union Futurecast is in, and it continues to hold steady. This has light snow moving northward throughout the afternoon, and becoming widespread this evening. This model continues to hint at the potential of dry choking off the precip early tomorrow morning.

Again, not much has changed with this forecast! Still looking at a general 1-2″ of snow this evening and tonight in this area. Some sleet/freezing rain may try to mix in by the morning. AM impacts and delays are likely!

We’re not talking much snow tonight, only a couple of inches. But, the timing & cold temps will work against schools tomorrow! The snow will be moving out between 6-10am, but the remaining slick spots will make travel hazardous through early afternoon. Widespread closings & delays are likely tomorrow! ❄️
