We have another hot and humid day on tap thanks to strong southerly flow! Temperatures will get back into the 90s this afternoon, but the high humidity will make it feel like we’re between 102-107°! As a result, a Heat Advisory is up for much of the Mid-Atlantic until 8pm tonight.
Heat is typically the leading cause of weather-related fatalities each year. Heat waves have the potential to cover a large area, exposing a high number of people to a hazardous combination of heat and humidity, which can be very taxing on the body. This continued heat and humidity will help to create more instability in the atmosphere this afternoon. This could provide enough fuel to help sustain another round of storms this afternoon. We will have more information on that threat later on this morning, but be aware of a 40% storm chance after 2pm!
