Tuesday’s Forecast: Periods of Rain Likely

Brought to you by Cedar Point Federal Credit Union

After a long holiday weekend, we are coming back into our routines being greeted with rain chances. We saw showers begin to break out yesterday afternoon and evening. The heaviest rains have been NW of DC, as expected. However, we will see periods of rain begin to push through our region.

Rain is going to be the most likely this morning as the primary wave of moisture pushes overhead. Scattered showers will make for a wet AM commute, especially for our northern zones. We should see a midday break in the activity which will allow temps to squeeze into the lower to middle 80s. Then, some scattered showers will look to return later on this evening.

Hi-Resolution Futurecast simulated radar

Our Futurecast model shows that this morning’s wave of rain should exit the region as we approach lunchtime. While the heaviest will be focused to the north, most spots should have seen at least some rain by lunchtime. After our midday, Futurecast shows those lingering showers pushing through this evening. With enough midday heating, we could even see a rumble of thunder or two.

While today will not be a total washout, I would plan on periods of rain impacting both the start and end of your day. This evening’s showers may linger into Wednesday morning before clearing up later in the day. That will set us up for a nice end to the week with seasonal temps and sunny skies!
