Wednesday’s Forecast: Overcast Skies with Spotty Showers

Brought to you by All in One Tag & Title

The weather roller coaster we have been on for the last few days continues on today! After seeing our season’s first heatwave this weekend, this week has gotten off to a cool and damp start. While rain will not be as widespread today, today will still be cool and cloudy, thanks to an onshore flow.

48-hour rainfall analysis from the National Weather Service

Over the last 48 hours, Rainfall amounts have varied somewhat across our local region. Northern areas have seen between a third and a half of an inch of rain. Meanwhile, our southern zones have picked up between 1-2″! Pax River checks in with 1.96″ of rain, and Leonardtown reports 1.76″ while Huntingtown officially reports only 0.40″.

Our system will continue to gradually weaken as spins off of our coastline. This means that onshore, easterly winds, clouds, and scattered light showers will remain possible today. Futurecast shows that we are not likely talking about a lot of rain today, just hit-and-miss light showers.

Thanks to the easterly wind, temperatures will not budge too much today, likely staying in the 60s for the most part. The increased cloud cover will help with this as well. Unlike yesterday, though, outdoor plans and activities are not likely to be impacted nearly as much. With that said, though, I would still bring the small umbrella with you this morning as you head out, just in case.
