NEW: Flood Warning for Parts of St. Mary’s County

NEW: Areal Flood Warning for St. Mary’s County along a small portion of the St. Mary’s River (small green shaded area) until 11:15pm Tuesday. This flooding is due to excessive runoff from earlier rainfall.

At 5:02 PM, a gauge on the St. Mary’s River in Great Mills indicated that minor flooding is occurring. Minor flooding begins at 6.0 feet. At 6 feet, Flat Iron Road begins to flood with water in some yards in Great Mills. Some locations that will experience flooding include Great Mills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
