Looking Ahead: Weekend Coastal Storm Potential Worth Watching

Brought to you by Chesapeake Orthodontics

I am already getting questions about a potential weekend snowstorm! As you know, it is far too early for any credible forecaster to give you specifics, but we can talk about the setup.

Yes, we are starting to watch the potential for a coastal system late this weekend into early next week (Sunday–Monday). Cold air looks to settle back into the region ahead of the system, and a disturbance moving across the southern U.S. may try to organize along the coast. The overall setup could support a coastal storm. But as always, the exact track and strength will determine whether this becomes a snow threat, a rain event, or largely a miss.

It’s important to note that our models are not in agreement right now. You may see hype online showing extreme snowfall totals, but those are based on individual model runs, not a consensus forecast. This winter, guidance has also struggled with consistency in winter setups, so confidence remains low this far out. For now, consider this an early heads-up: the pattern is worth watching, but the devil is in the details, and we’ll need a few more days before anything can be pinned down.
