We have a hot and humid day on tap! Temperatures are set to race into the middle 90s with high humidity that will make it feel between 100-105° this afternoon. The hot and humid conditions will create ample storm energy by this afternoon and evening.

A Heat Advisory is up for areas along and east of I-95 for today. Heat index values up to 105 are expected from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening in areas near and east of the Interstate 95 corridor from northeast to southern Maryland and the northern neck of Virginia, including Baltimore MD and Washington DC. Hot, humid conditions can cause heat illnesses. Limit outdoor time and drink plenty of water.

While we will have storm energy this afternoon and evening, we will lack a “trigger” to actually kick off widespread storms. This is why our storm chances between 3-11pm sit around 30-40%. With that said, though, if scattered storms can generate, they could definitely turn severe! Today will feature your typical summertime spotty storm chances!
