Summer Outlook: Above Average Temps & Precip Expected
The National Weather Service issued it’s official Summer 2022 forecast on Thursday, favoring another hot and wet Summer, locally.
Morning showers will give way to afternoon sunshine and warming temperatures as we begin a multi-day warm stretch.
A seasonal day is on tap across the region with mostly sunny skies. Clouds move in late, though, with the chance of rain tonight.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of the Mid-Atlantic ahead of a cold front that will look to bring the potential for severe weather.
A couple of rounds of strong to severe storms will possible throughout the afternoon and evening as a strong cold front moves through.
Skies remain mostly cloudy today as rain chances look to make a return to the Mid-Atlantic– especially this evening.
Another day of the the onshore flow will lead to cooler temps for southeastern zones, mostly cloudy skies, and tidal flooding.
Seasonal temperatures are expected today, but a continued onshore flow will lead lingering coastal flooding concerns.
